Schedule of Events for 2010

 

The Annual Larry Conaway Scholarship Memorial Walk is to honor and remember a Coach, Teacher, Father, Husband and a Great Man.  The walk is sponsored by Mannington Main Street, with all proceeds going toward a scholarship in memory of Coach Conaway through the North Marion Foundation.

  

The Memorial Walk will be held Saturday, September 11, 2010.  Registration will be held in Citizens Square from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 am and the walk will begin at 10:00 am.   The Walk will be approximately two (2) miles long and cover Larry’s daily route and will reconvene at Citizens Square.

The registration fee is $5 for each participant.

September 11 - Corwin Ford and Mannington Main Street would like to invite you to the 4th Annual Corwin Ford Blues & Cruise & Chili Cook Off beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Market Street in Mannington.  Join us for a fun evening of "cruisin" cars, great chili and great music featuring Break Mountain.

October 2 - Octoberfest Street Festival 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Enjoy a beautiful day celebrating the arrival of fall with entertainment, crafts, and food in downtown Mannington on Market Street.  There is something for everyone at this family event.

October 30 - Halloween Town - Participating Main Street members and businesses open their doors to trick or treaters on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.  Interested businesses will leave a pumpkin or jack o lantern outside their business showing they will be handing out treats

December 4 - West Augusta Historical Society's Annual Greenery Bazaar held in the beautiful log cabin on the Wilson School Museum's grounds.  Take a step back in time and enjoy wassail by the stone fireplace, while enjoying the many handmade items available for purchase.  The stars of the show are the many handcrafted evergreen wreaths, swags and arrangements made from local pine and holly and designed by the West Augusta Historical Society's members.

December 4th - Mannington Main Street is pleased to invite you to our Annual Christmas Parade at 11:00 and Main Street Member's Open Houses.  Stop by and visit Santa at Citizen's Square.  He will be sure to listen to all your holiday wishes.
